MY INHERITANCE

   What comes to mind when you think of receiving an inheritance?  You may think about someone leaving you material possessions such as money, land, houses, etc.  As believers in Christ Jesus, we have an inheritance that is far greater than merely land or material blessings which fade or perish over time.  Our inheritance in Christ is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading.  It is secure and also eternal. We are God's children, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ! Those who have received Him as their Lord and Savior are adopted into God's family and share in everything that belongs to Christ Jesus.

    Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1:3-4

    Now if we are children, then we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in that we may also share in his glory. 

Romans 8:17

    And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation.  When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession, to the praise of his glory.
